Carrie McCoy...Come on Down!

Ok. So I never actually heard those words. And I have come to the realization that I won't ever hear them from either Bob Barker or Drew Carey. And I am okay with that. Disappointed, but okay. I mean after going 3 different times and giving up a whole day to stand in line from 4am till 3pm, I figure I can accept the fact that CBS made a huge mistake by not choosing me, but that is something they are going to have to live with.

Earlier this month, my sister, brother, and 5 friends joined Sam and I on a little get away to California. Included in our trip was 2 days at Disneyland and California Adventure Land as well as a third day at a taping of The Price is Right.

I thought that since this was my 3rd attempt at getting called down to Contestant's row as well as my 30th birthday that I had a good chance. Also, a friend of mine made shirts for us to wear.
Everyone's shirt (except my own) said "I'm with Carrie on her 30th Birthday" and mine said, "I'm with Carey on My 30th Birthday!" Mine also had a nice large picture of Drew.
And the guys especially loved the hot pink color. Not really, but they got over it. :)
Even though no one from our group got called down, we all had a great time. At least that's what the producers told us to look like they we were doing when they took this shot of us.

A wise man once told me that "it's not all about you" but on this day...it was!

And come to find out, I am not the only one that is slightly obsessed with the show. A few of my companions, who shall remain nameless, actually Tivo the show! And quote it! And talk about the crazy contestants that get called down. And practice jumping up and down in case they were to get called down.

It was a very memorable trip with friends and family

Like father, like daughter

Sam is beginning to full fill his dream of teaching his children, at a young age, to ski.
Uncle Jon gets the glory here while daddy is snapping pictures
She is very excited to go on the "lift chair"

1996 vs. 2010

The first week of the new year we had the interior of our house, including the ceiling, repainted to a more updated, modern look. The butter-yellow color wasn't cutting it for me anymore. Not to mention the hand-prints, feet marks, scratches, marker accidents, etc. that were permanently ingrained into the walls. We decided it was time for an update.

And, although it was a chore to take everything off the walls and move all of the furniture into the middle of every room...it was worth it. Besides, we have super cool parents that took us in all week, fed us, watched our children, and gave us a place to hang out while our house was invaded.

The #1 thing I didn't know I was going to do today...

...having to take Jocelyn to the doctor to have a raisin removed from her nose. It was stuck up so far, they decided they had to send me to an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist to have them remove it. Then, at the last second, all the poking and prodding made her sneeze which dislodged it enough to allow them to access it.
The life of the mother! :)

Big girl haircuts

The girls have both had haircuts before, but that doesn't mean I couldn't take pictures today during their experience as well.

As you can tell, Genevieve is not the most excited about getting her haircut.

But she was very tough and showed her sister how to be a big girl and was all smiles when she was done and was promised a candy.

Jocelyn insisted on holding my hand throughout the process.

She kept a close eye on me as I moved away.

She didn't have a smile for us at all, but her hair is a bit less "mullet-like" now.

I didn't do it!

These are the words that have been coming from Jocelyn's mouth on a somewhat regular basis.
"I didn't do it."
For instance, when pen markings were found on the door. Or marker in the sink. Of course it wasn't her. Unfortunately she has started blaming Kailer (who hasn't been to our house since Christmas.)
This morning she didn't get into my make up drawer and use my eyeliner...she didn't!

Fortunately for her, she's cute!
