The #1 thing I didn't know I was going to do today...

...having to take Jocelyn to the doctor to have a raisin removed from her nose. It was stuck up so far, they decided they had to send me to an Ear/Nose/Throat specialist to have them remove it. Then, at the last second, all the poking and prodding made her sneeze which dislodged it enough to allow them to access it.
The life of the mother! :)

Big girl haircuts

The girls have both had haircuts before, but that doesn't mean I couldn't take pictures today during their experience as well.

As you can tell, Genevieve is not the most excited about getting her haircut.

But she was very tough and showed her sister how to be a big girl and was all smiles when she was done and was promised a candy.

Jocelyn insisted on holding my hand throughout the process.

She kept a close eye on me as I moved away.

She didn't have a smile for us at all, but her hair is a bit less "mullet-like" now.

I didn't do it!

These are the words that have been coming from Jocelyn's mouth on a somewhat regular basis.
"I didn't do it."
For instance, when pen markings were found on the door. Or marker in the sink. Of course it wasn't her. Unfortunately she has started blaming Kailer (who hasn't been to our house since Christmas.)
This morning she didn't get into my make up drawer and use my eyeliner...she didn't!

Fortunately for her, she's cute!

Wonderful way to start my morning

I got the girls new toothbrushes since their last ones were getting a bit frayed. I had a blue one and a green one. Neither had been used yet.
Jenna: Which one is mine?
Me: The blue one. (although I really didn't care, in fact I was certain she would then ask for the green one.)
Jenna: But I want the green one! (Did I call it?)
Me: OK, you can have the green one.
Jocelyn: I want the blue one.
Me: Perfect, because the blue one is yours!
Jenna: (of course she had to pop back into the conversation) No, I wanted the blue one.
Me: Nope. You asked for the green one so you get the green one.
Jocelyn: (In a neener-neener voice to Jenna) You get what you get and you don't throw a fit.
Jenna: (In a "I'm 3 going on 14 voice") Fine! I am going to ask Jenn (the girl that cleaned her teeth last time) for a blue toothbrush!...And I can drive!!

Jocelyn the Gymnast

Jocelyn has been in gymnastics for a few months now and is really liking it...and doing very well I might add! I signed her up for class to have some special time together while Genevieve is in Preschool. I had no idea that she would enjoy it as much as she does!
Of course it is impossible for me to get any pictures of her jumping, tumbling, or flipping since I have to be in class with her, but here is one of her sporting her new leotard right before class started.

Christmas Festivities

Parties with the Humfeld family always include a good amount of game time.

Cousinly love! The best part about this picture is the following: Genevieve is 3. Mikayla is 5. Need I say more? :)

My dad is like a kid going through a stage of having a hard time smiling naturally for the camera. So here, we had to make him laugh to catch a good smile. Sshh, don't tell him our secret!

Humfeld cousins (minus Macrina)

You would cry too if your mommy wouldn't let you have any more chocolate!

She takes this whole "get cozy while you read" thing very seriously.

Jocelyn loves her "Share Bear replacement." It comes in the form of a monkey.

She is having a heart to heart with her monkey

Notice the thumb? And the carrot still in grasp?

One of the only "healthy" meals in 5 days! (Wait, I take that back. The day after Christmas, they had mushrooms for a morning snack.)

Reading stories at Christmas in the dead of night.

One of Jocelyn's favorite things: Going high in the sky with daddy!

Grandma and Grandpa McCoy

Sporting her new hat and scarf courtesy of Great Grandma McCoy

Grandma and Grandpa got the girls some hooded bath towels. They were a hit at home...even when it wasn't bath time.

Grandpa had fun too!

Christmas Day Twinsies

We finally got a chance to play in the snow. Genevieve is wearing her new gear that she will use when daddy takes her skiing for the first time this year. She is very excited to ski with him! (Jocelyn just gets the old hand-me downs.)

Learning how to make snow angels...in an inch of snow. Hey it works!
