The "thrill" of being a big girl that goes to Preschool has quickly faded, so I am bringing back some pictures of the good 'ol days when going to school was fun for Genevieve!
Now, instead of this cheesy face, I get to see lips quiver and eyes well up with tears...
She’s no longer independent...she won't leave my side without a cry and plea...
This is the face of an excited little girl, proud to be big enough to go...
And would you believe that she would now just rather stay home?
My little girl has a very sensitive side and doesn't do well with overly active, rambunctious children...aka...her classmates. Her teacher told me that most of the students are used to some form of daycare and that it is obvious that Genevieve is not one of them. So, poor Geneveive, sits quietly on the floor, criss-cross applesauce, while the others can't keep their mouths shut!
Ok, it isn't actually that bad, although it is a little sad! She only gets anxious on her way to class. She has learned A LOT in the whole month that she has been there. And, she does come home from school with a huge smile on her face, wanting to share everything she did.
Multiple songs, dances, paintings, projects, etc. And the best yet, the other day, she finished brushing her teeth and said, "I pledge allegiance to the flag..." Seriously? I didn't teach her that!

It's always interesting to see how a kid will react to a new situation. This is Aubrey's first time in any sort of school and she is in pre-kindergarten and already five. It has been smooth sailing but I guarantee you it would have been an issue at three. Genevieve sure looks cute though!
How are you hanging in there with your reluctant kid? I swear it's harder on the parents than the kids when they are upset!
