As most mothers know, when you become pregnant, your stomach is not the only area that grows. So, since I have been pretty active with this pregnancy, it was mandatory that I buy a new sports bra to hold me in while I am exercising. I was shocked at the price some people are willing to pay for such a small, unnoticed piece of "clothing!" But I caved and bought a really good quality one, knowing that I would continue using it post-delivery.
Yesterday, Sam and I took the girls up to White Pass to hike up the mountain and I wore my new garment. Even though I was totally out of breath by the time we got to the top, I mentioned to Sam that I was really pleased with my new purchase and I told him that it "held the twins in well."
Unbeknownst to me, Genevieve heard my comment and said,
 "We are having twins?! Yes!!!"
Try explaining that one to her! :)

Anyone emotional?

You know you're pregnant when:.....

You actually start CRYING on the phone to the Walmart manager while informing him that this is the 2nd time you have gotten home from grocery shopping and not all of your groceries made it into your bag.

The girls ran their first "Kids Marathon" this weekend. They have been preparing for it for a few months now and it paid off. They ran their fastest time with smiles on their faces the whole way!

Honesty

Jocelyn made a picture for Sam. She showed it to me and explained that it was a picture of her and her daddy. She disappointingly said, "Only, I had to make daddy have brown hair because I didn't have a gray crayon."

The "New" Blog

In an attempt to satisfy those wanting to read a McCoy blog, and my inability to find spare time to write that blog, my husband suggested a compromise. "Blog Simply." This came about when I had mentioned a funny story to him regarding our daughter to which he told me "blog it!" No pictures needed, no long detailed story, just the basics. And so I am once again in the blogging world, mostly as a way to document things in our life, but hopefully to entertain my followers as well. :)

Yesterday, as we are driving in the car, we passed a man standing on the corner holding a large sign that says, "Will You Marry Me?" and on the other side says "Perry Jewelers." Jenna asked me why that man was asking me to marry him. I explained to her that it was a form of marketing and that Perry Jewelers sells engagement rings etc. She was quiet for a second and then said, "I guess I don't understand because I am a kid, and you understand it because you are an adult." I slightly chuckled but agreed with her that that was possible. She continued, "And plus, usually people on the corners hold signs that say 'Can you give me money?' "

The Beginnings of Christmas

What a wonderful, exciting, fulfilling, and exhausting time of year! Between work, school, Christmas parties, school parties, Christmas concerts, shoveling snow, making goodies, making Christmas meals, going to church at midnight, and making more food...I get WORN OUT! But I wouldn't change anything about it. (I''ll just complain instead.) :)

The girls entertained us during their Christmas concert this year. Jocelyn stood there and smiled the whole time. She was cute, but completely uncomfortable with participating. So she didn't. At all. In fact, she drew more attention to herself as "the little girl that wouldn't sing or dance" while all the other little kids really got into it. That's my Jocelyn.
Genevieve enjoyed her songs and has really started opening up in the last year or so. She even asked at our Christmas dinner if she could sing one of her songs to the whole family.

Christmas morning was enjoyed at our house opening gifts with the girls and having a yummy breakfast! Then we made our way to my parents house for the big day! Lots of kids, lots of presents, and entirely too much food! I am certainly blessed with an amazing family!

Some of the best gifts the girls received were a basketball, a remote control airplane, Hello Kitty galore, and believe it or not...a white board! It's amazing what amuses kids these days!
Unfortunately, Genevieve didn't get what she asked for..."A cell phone so that she can text Mikayla."

Round 2 with the McCoy family coming soon!

The expressive introvert

I love how this picture depicts which child of ours is the serious one and which is the goofy one.

Jocelyn.
She has a personality that I can't figure out.
She is spunky, dramatic, and giggly.
She prefers a British accent and is heard saying things like, "Well hello my darlin'!" or "Shall we play a game of Fancy Nancy?" or even "Would you care for some Tea and Crumpets?"
(Ok, maybe not that last one.)
She speaks very dramatically with heart and character.

She requested a hair-do of sporadically placed buns across her head, each sprayed with pink, blue, and silver glitter paint for crazy hair day at school.
But take a picture of her?! Absolutely not! And don't stare at her either! She can't handle it. She'll break down and cry.
She could definitely be an actress...at an empty theater.

So, after all my hard work of making their hair just perfect, I was unable to document it due to some extreme shyness. So, I took them to my mom's house. She can bribe her into almost anything. Jocelyn agreed to the picture as long as I was in it! Crazy dramatic girl!

She is like a ticking time bomb. She can be laughing so hard at one moment and within a matter of milliseconds, she can be hysterically crying in pain, usually something to do with her head or stomach, and usually unwarranted. She needs attention. But she doesn't want it. Confusing, I know. I still can't figure it out.

Oh, and Jocelyn can say her alphabet backwards...faster than she can forwards. Don't believe me? You're going to have to, because getting a video of her doing it would involve a visit from CPS. Just not worth it.

Genevieve isn't afraid of a close up!
